SFLQT CH 14

Happy Chinese New Year! It’s the year of the rat. Not sure if it’s revealing of my age but I was born in the year of the rat. The superstition is that one needs to be more cautious during the years shared by your sign. Not sure why, but I guess that’s why it’s called superstitions.

This chapter is also amusing. So far, each chapter does not let the readers down! My simplified Chinese reading is improving. I have to admit it’s easier to read versus traditional but I still prefer traditional Chinese. I feel there is a lot cut out once the characters become simplified.

The author’s note is a bit longer today, at the end of the chapter as usual, my notes following that.

As always, thanks for your support and feedback is appreciated! Ko-Fi & Patreon on the side, if you wish to donate.

Enjoy!

Author’s Note:

Zhao Xing Chen: ╭ (╯ ^ ╰) ╮Not one bit of brotherly love.

You guys simply don’t appreciate the fun of scumbag futilely wooing back his wife!!!

TL: Referenced in Author’s note after Chapter 8, where one acts tsundere to push away the one they love until they give up and now you gotta chase them back. I guess there’s a connotation of it being a feat of insanity as well as inevitable defeat from this idiom?

I read that kind of work with the courtship of a scumbag. The first 100 chapters were all abusing the female lead, and then using 100 words to abuse the male lead! !! The more I read, the more they suffered. Later, after they got together, they suffered even more. Like the marketing text I read, the male lead could dig out his heart and lungs for the female lead. Finally, the female lead faked her death. The male lead was full of remorse, crying out his eyes blind in front of the female lead’s gravestone. The female lead was so moved after seething this, and then they got together.

Me: ? ? ?

Female lead, does your brain have a problem!

TL: Google translate actually translated as “are you mentally ill?” which fits quite well too.

After that, I never read again, it’s all clickbait,* deceiving my pure and young heart, and so then I write it myself. The ending is not important at all, what is important is to feel refreshingly happy in the process!

TL: *大猪蹄子 is an idiom that translates into big pig trotters/pig feet, I don’t really get it either how that would come to mean a person that promises one thing and then turns around and breaks their word…

As a result … you guys want Wang boy* to go offline …? ? ?
Excuse me, but if he’s offline, what do I write, the female lead roaming through out, cultivating into an immortal?
Worth pondering.

* She is referring to Shen Wang but is familiarizing his name here.

Finally, you guys say that the female lead doesn’t seem to have gone through quick transmigration before. emmmm*, when I have time to go for some quick transmigration, at that time I will write a quick transmigration heroine that will definitely let you guys be satisfied. Get*, sound plan.

*This was literally how she wrote in her author’s note. I love her snark here. Then follows some stuff about red pockets and her archive or whatnot.

Translator’s Notes:

So darn funny that Zhao Yunqing’s face left no impression on her at all! Even though it’s been eight years of quick transmigration for her, Su Nuo should have some type of impression! She even had to basically Google him.

Though his reaction after she left seems a bit ambiguous, it can be interpreted as either love or hate? Like he is an enemy or possible love interest, just that he obviously notices her. His intention behind writing out her name is unclear.

Zhao Yunqing’s name (趙雲清) can be translated to Clear Cloud, which is kind of an oxymoron. I gather Cloud (雲) is to denote the idea of floating up top, associating with the heavens, while the Clear (清) is also associated with clean and quiet. So his name is like the quiet, still heavens or a clear sky more so than the literal translation in my opinion.

The new character is also surnamed Zhao so I feel that they must be related to our ML! He did mention that he has an older brother!! This would make it so hilarious because if Su Nuo gets with Zhao Yunqing, Zhao Xingchen does become the brother-in-law of the twins!! LOL!

Zhao Xingchen’s naming sense (趙星辰) also seems to follow Zhao Yunqing’s name. Xing is for star, which is sky/heaven related and chen for day or time. So literally, his name means star time and infers night time. It’s also pretty odd that he is basically a ruffian that doesn’t look that way at all as the author specifically points how his behavior contrasts sharply with his clean, good youthful looks.

While I was reading this, I was so worried for Su Nuo because Zhao Yunqing had just left! Then, the 360 turnaround happened and I just had to burst out laughing. So funny!

As for spicy strips, they sound very similar to the beef or pork jerky I like to eat. The author herself mentioned them in a previous note. She ate them until her throat got infected! See some examples of spicy strips below:

    1. maybe he has some connections with that crown prince she mentioned that made her lose hope in love? or maybe he’s actually THAT prince? or maybe I’m just overly sensitive and loves to overthink and create nonsensical theories? 😅😆 😂

  1. tbh I totally get shen wang though, sure he went a bit overboard and he’s pretty immature, but at the same time from his perspective it’s relatable.

a girl that randomly barged into his life and took up all his parents’ love, who clung tightly to him like a stalker since young (don’t tell me “but I love him” unwanted love is actually very heavy and burdensome), who gets in the relationship that he does want and bullies the girl he actually likes, who he thinks raped him (although she denies it, tbh he does have every reason to believe otherwise)

    I wouldn’t like her either.

  2. Zhao actor and this Zhao kid are maybe related???

I think Zhao actor is also transmigrated bc he was in coma before. It will probably exciting if he already met Su Nuo in one of transmigrated worlds and
fell in love with her … Maybe the Crown Prince who killed her???
